A community east is established in 1946 forming a Kibboutz thus. During the summer 1948, the community was evacuated for 3 months following a seat of the Egyptian army during the war of independence. After the War the Six Day old, a military base was built on the site. Into 1989, the community was transformed into civil community under the national government of union of Shimon Peres and Yitzhak Shamir.
En August 2005 the colony was evacuated in accordance with the Disengagement plan of the occupied territories, but this withdrawal was marked by serious incidents in the synagog, which were largely relayed by the médiaux international ones.
Sit of the synagog
Many colonists of the Gaza Strip, but also of the militants of the West Bank had been barricaded in the Synagog of Kfar Darom. The synaguogue was transformed into fortress, the main doors were blocked, the roof was surrounded by barbed wire. The colonists had cut off themselves with a quantity from water and important food, in the hope which they could maintain the seat more the possible for a long time. Inside the synagog, 400 people whose rabbi sat down while clinging mutually by their arms. The militants were installed on the roof, they were 100. The police force evacuated rez-of-fitted synagog, by tearing off with 4 police officers each individual of the group.
Once the first evacuated stage, the police force realized that it would be hard to go up on the floor because the staircases had been covered with gasoline and the doors protected by sandbags. The police force réflichissa then in another plan to take by storm the roof, it then let accept the colonists whom they could become there the night.
Attack of the roof
A truck with water was conveyed in front of the synagog and aspergea the colonists with water coloured in blue. This choice of color was important because blue symbolized the color chosen for the withdrawal of the colonies, in opposition to the orange which was the color of the resistance movement which was opposed to the withdrawal. The leader of this movement Moshe Leshem remained impassive during all the operation, it agitated an Israeli flag by making the sign of the victory with his fingers, although sprinkled by the water cannon. Soldiers were piled up in containers and were raised by a crane, then close to the roof where they were deposited to take possession of it. During this time of other soldiers approached the zone by taking seat on a balcony in lower part of the roof, they started to cut out barbed wire. When they approached the roof the resistant ones started to throw gasoline, oil, and all the other projectiles to them which they had under the hand. Certain soldiers were sprinkled by a mixture of white spirit, they left the synagog dévétus completely, and other soldiers affairairent themselves to clean the skin with water to them.
Reaction
The combat of the opponents were desperate, they knew it. The battle was futile but they tried to make the evacuation hardest possible in order to in the future avoid other withdrawals of colonies.
The reactions of the Israeli public opinion was mitigated. Some thought that these acts of resistance were heroic whereas the Israeli government denounced this resistance like criminal taking into account the violence employed against the Israeli forces.
This incident was most important of the withdrawal of the colonies because diffused on line on the chains of American information, as CNN which is accessible in the whole world.
