Keith Packard is a Développeur, known for its work on the X Window System.

Work

Keith Packard introduced many extensions and produces much documentation for protocol X. It is strongly implied in the development of X since the end of the Années 1980, initially with MIT X Consortium, then with the Fondation X.Org. It is also one of the principal authors of Cairo.

After being excluded from XFree86 due to dissension (which led to the formation of the Fork X.org with growing success), he is now director of project on experimental waiter X of Freedesktop.org and on the implementation of reference of X.

Career

Keith Packard obtained the Bachelor off Arts in Mathématiques with the Reed College in the Oregon in 1986. Of 1983 with 1986, it worked at Tektronix, with Wilsonville, where it designed terminals X and work stations UNIX.

It then left to Cambridge, to work with the MIT X Consortium of 1988 with 1992. It develops to with it the implementation of reference and the Standard of X Window System as a member senior of a small team. It is at the origin of the versions of X produced during this period.

In 1992, it leaves to Mountain View to work at Network Computing Devices, on terminals X and graphic computers.

He works in Cambridge Research Labs of Compaq (then Hewlett-Packard) of 2001 with 2005, with the closing of that Ci.
