Karen Blixen
Karen Blixen , of its pen name Isak Dinesen , (April 17th 1885 with Rungstedlund - September 7th 1962 with Rungstedlund) is a Danish woman of letters .
Biography
In 1914 she marries her cousin the baron Bror von Blixen-Finecke, Swedish, which takes it along to the Kenya (then British dominion ) where they settle before going bankrupt with a coffee plantation too much in altitude.The baron takes part in the First World War on the side of combined and it will accompany it. Her unsteady husband transmits the Syphilis to him; they separate in 1921 and divorce in 1925. Maintained in life by a treatment heavy metals (mercury), it can nevertheless go for great walks with horse and like Shéhérazade it writes to keep the attention of its confidant. Syphilis is the cause of its death.
It is one of the principal heiresses of the Gothic style Anglo-Saxon, that it prolongs by a personal Fantastique.

the African Farm is published in France in 1942 with a translation of Yvonne Manceron based on the English translation. The novel is republished in May 2005 with a translation based on the Danish original text.
Karen Blixen receives the Prix Tagea Brandt Rejselegat in 1939.
