Kanesatake
Kanesatake is not, like the majority of the communities autochtones to the Quebec, located on a reserve. It is rather about a ground allocated at the indigenous community (mohawk) close to the village of Oka, in the regional Municipalité of county of Two-Mountains (with the Quebec Canada), located in the administrative area of the Laurentides.
Crisis of Kanesatake
Recently, the small community faced a crisis which made the cuff as much in the province of Quebec that in the remainder of Canada. Because of political conflicts between the partisans of the ex-chief of the community, James Gabriel, and those of the chief in station, Steven Bonspille, a crisis burst. The interference of the various implied actors made lose his post of minister of Public safety with Jacques Chagnon. The final chapter of this saga is written in this moment even after the update of the extravagant expenditure of the police forces mohawk setting-up to subdue the crisis.
