Kamychine

Kamychine (in Russian: Камы́шин) is a city of the Oblast of Volgograd, in Russia. The city is located on Right Bank of the Réservoir of Volgograd, on the course of the the Volga, in the Estuaire of the river Kamynchinka. Its population rose with: 127891 in 2002.

Kamychine was created in 1667 on left bank of the Kamychinka river. In 1710, all its population was transferred in the fortress, on opposite bank of the river. This locality was initially named Dmitrievski.En 1780, the name was changed into Kamychine. At the 19th century, the city became a commercial city with sawmills and windmills. It was formerly famous for its trade of Pastèque S.

Alekseï Petrovitch Maresiev, have Soviet aviation of the Second world war had been born in Kamychine.
