Kópavogur
Kópavogur is the second residential zone of Iceland with a population of 27835 inhabitants. This city is in the south-west of Reykjavík.
The mayor of the city east Gunnar Birgisson. It is a member of the Althing, for the conservative party.

History
The city is the site of the meeting of Kópavogur. This event took place in 1662 and marks the incorporation of Iceland to the Denmark.
