Jutland
The Jutland , in Danish Jylland , is the peninsula, forming the continental part of the Denmark. The origin of its name is associated with the presence of the Germanic people of the Jutes, known historically at the 5th century.
It is bathed in the North-West by the Skagerrak, in the North-East by the Kattegat, in the east by the the Baltic and in the west by the the North Sea.

Surface: 29.776 km ². Population January 2007: 2.513.601 (84,41/km ²). In the broad sense, Jutland also includes/understands the German Land the Schleswig-Holstein.
It was the theater, the May 31st 1916, of the one of the greatest naval battles of all times, the Bataille of Jutland, opposing the British Home Fleet of the admiral Jellicoe to the fleet of German open sea of the admiral von Scheer.
