Justin II
Justin II (Latin: Flavius Iustinus Iunior Augustus ) (520 † October 5th, 578), it was Byzantine emperor of November 13rd, 565 with its death on October 5th, 578. He was the nephew of Justinien I {{er}} and his successor, this one not having wire. He reached the throne dead of his uncle, designated by this one on his bed of death, in 565. He married a niece of the empress Théodora, Sophie, with whom he gave up the reality of the capacity quickly.
The Empire was exhausted militarily and financially by the efforts of restoration of the Roman Empire undertaken under the preceding reign and the new emperor was hardly with the height of its task. On the pressing request of Sophie, he recalled Narsès Italy in 567 to the moment when the Lombards, under the direction of Alboïn, penetrated in the peninsula and seized part of the conquests justiniennes. Thus in 568 they took Pavia, then Spolète and Bénévent in 572. This same year was created the Exarchat de Ravenne in order to resist more close with the invasions lombardes.
In parallel, starting from 568 the Avars invaded the Dalmatie and the Illyrie. Justin II was obliged to sign with them a treaty in 571 by which it is committed paying a strong tribute.

Indeed in the East, while Justinien bought peace at the borders by the payment of tributes, Justin II adopted a diplomacy closes and took again the war with the Perses, partly to support the Armenian revolted against the Persian yoke in 571. He thus sends the Marcien general, but this last fails to take Nisibe. Sophie makes it replace by her Acacius favorite, but the Greek troops were defeats on several occasions. Justin lost Dara in Syria in 573, and again had to pay a tribute of an amount of 45 000 gold coins to Persians.
Reached mental disorders, without direct descendant to succeed to him, Justin II associated with the throne a soldier, the future Tibère II, in 574 on the councils of Sophie.
