1938 . Great Britain: the Locomotive with vapor Pacific 4468 Mallard establishes the railway world speed records in traction vapor to 202,7 km/h (either 126 mph).
- 1995 . Bielorussia: the line Avtozavodskaya of the Métro of Minsk is prolonged station Frunzenskaya at the station Pushkinskaya .
- 1996 . the United States: the fusion of the Union Pacific and the Southern Pacific is approved by the STP (Surface Transportation Board). The new unit constitutes one of the two wide-area networks of Railroad of the United States with BNSF.

2004 . Thailand: opening of the first line of the Subway of Bangkok.
- 2006 . Spain: the derailment of an oar of Métro to Valence resulted in the death of at least 41 people and wounded 40 others of them. The accident, which proceeded in full downtown area, would be due at an excessive speed and the rupture of a wheel, of government source.
