Joséphine Rostkowska

((in progress)) Joséphine Rostkowska was born in Warsaw the March 19th 1784, died in Aniche in the department of North the July 18th 1896 at the 112 years age according to the death certificate preserved in the municipal files.

In fact, one has yet only little information on his origins. Was the natural girl of Stanislas Sołtyk and thus the half-sister of the general Roman Sołtyk, who belonged to the staff of Napoleon, deceased with Saint-Germain-in-Bush hammer where he had been withdrawn? Obviously, it was of famous origin, having for protective the princess Isabelle Działyńska, born Czartoryska. Remainder, her husband, Daniel Rostkowski had been during a time the secretary and the librarian of prince Czartoryski to the Hotel Lambert.

In January 1831, it had entered the Army Polonaise in the capacity as surgeon assistance under a male name Kluczycki) with " the complicité" of the Chief consultant. During the war polono-Russian, she devoted herself on 12 battle fields and has itself be wounded twice. Its courage was worth to him to be decorated with the Money Cross of the Order Virtuti Militari. It was thus one of the two only women (on 1968 combatants) to have received this distinction.

It is as under a male identity Joseph Mazurkiewicz as it deposited on December 7th, 1831 a request for passport to the embassy from France to Vienna; it had the rank of lieutenant and was going from the remainder to perceive during a time a pension of officer.
