John Vanbiesbrouck

John Vanbiesbrouck (born on September 4th, 1963 with Strait) is a former goalkeeper of LNH. He played for the Rangers of New York, the Flyers of Philadelphia, the Panthers of Florida, the Islanders of New York and the Devils of the New Jersey.

He began his career during the Repêchage of entry in the LNH 1981 with the Rangers of New York. He finished his career with 374 victories against 346 defeats and 119 ties, and he is generally regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the history of the United States. He gained the Trophée Vézina in 1986 and he led the American Olympic team to the plays of Nagano in 1998. In 1996, it carried out Panthers towards their first final of the Coupe Stanley, but they lost in 4 parts against the Avalanche of Colorado.

He became the 15th guard of the LNH to deserve 300 victories when he beat Islanders the 6-2 December 27th 1997. He is also the only guard of the history of the league to have the five vowels in his family name.
