John Sykes

John Sykes , born the July 29th 1959 with Reading (England), is a guitarist of Hard rock. He played with several groups of which Tygers off Side Tang, Thin Lizzy and Whitesnake.

Biography

In 1980, John Sykes records individual with Streetfighter (“She' S No Angel”) before forming a group named Badlands, including/understanding John Sloman with the Chant and Neil Murray with the low . After having answered a classified it passes a hearing for Tygers off Side Tang and becomes the second guitarist of the group. It records the albums Spellbound and Crazy Nights , both left in 1981. Via the producer Chris Tsangarides, it meets Phil Lynott which it invites to take part in his individual “Please Don' T Leave Me”. In return, Phil Lynott proposes to him to integrate Thin Lizzy which separates after a last album studio and a long round from good-byes.

In 1984, John Sykes joined the group of the singer David Coverdale, Whitesnake, in which it replaces Micky Moody just left after the recording the album Slide It In . It carries out some final improvements on the remixée version of Slide It In intended for the US market. It Co-writing then with David Coverdale the album of Whitesnake left in 1987 which is an immense success.

John Sykes founds his own group Blue Murder in 1989. It records a model with Ray Gillen with the song, Tony Franklin with low and Cozy Powell with the battery. Ray Gillen leaves the group quickly. It is followed little by Cozy Powell, replaced by Carmine Appice. A first album is published in 1989, with John Sykes with the song then a second, Nothin' But Disorder , in 1993. Meanwhile, the composition of the group changed. Around John Sykes, Marco Mendoza and Tommy O' Steen respectively occupy the places of bass player and beater. Renamed Sykes, this formation left several albums since 1995. In parallel, John Sykes actively invested himself to reform Thin Lizzy.

In 1999, the piece solo " Cautionary Warning" was used as generic for Black Heaven animates. The credits of the series are besides a rotoscopage of one in the concerts of Sykes. Indeed the presence of Sykes, rather popular in Japan was one of the arguments marketing of Pioneer during the launching of the series.
