Johann Friedrich Wilhelm Adolf von Baeyer (October 31st 1835 with Berlin - August 20th 1917) was a German Chimiste which synthesized the Indigo and obtained in 1905 the Nobel Prize of chemistry after having been prize winner of the Davy Médaille in 1881. Johann Friedrich Wilhelm Adolf von Baeyer became foreign member of the Royal Society the December 10th 1885.

One owes him also the Fluoréscéine or the Barbiturate acid.
