Joel Ducorroy

Joel Ducorroy is a French artist born in 1955.

At fourteen years, it carries out serigraphies close to those of Andy Warhol.

Then, it makes a passage to Beautiful arts of Paris.

In 1980, Joel Ducorroy meets Serge Gainsbourg with which it exchanged some facetious words of the kind “And will cetera, it is adequate”, that it had the idea to register on a number plate.

The support was found, an original voyage could begin, through forms, colors, humor and writing. On the suggestion of a friend, it adopted the denomination of artist plaquetitien . Duccoroy enteprend a variation of its work starting from this support.

After that of the “false-tables”, “portrait”, “places of fixing”, “Pupe” spread the wings of 16 lépidoptères carefully locked up in boxes of one meter out of one meter. “Pupe”, it is the chrysalis, it is the art of the metamorphosis, reality transformed to give another reading of it.
