Jive
The jive is a dance of swing, version of competition of the rock' roll. Generally very appreciated candidates, this dance their request however a particular energy, insofar as, danced on a rate/rhythm fast and resting on rather tiring leg movements, it generally encloses the competitions of Latin dances.
Going down from the Lindy Hop, it became popular in Europe during the Second world war by the music swing of Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw, Tommy Dorsey and Glenn Miller and which conquered the West in 1940 under the name of Jitterbug. The Boogie, the Rock'n'roll & Roll also influenced this dance which is very fast. In the context of competition, the dancers must prove that after 4 dances they are still capable of intense physical efforts.
