Jeolla
The Jeolla is one of old the Eight provinces of Korea, during the Dynastie Yi, also known as dynasty of Joseon. It was located at the south-west of the Korea and its capital was Jeonju.
Partition of Jeolla
In 1896, Jeonju and the districts north of Namwon are assembled to form the province of the Jeolla of North. The towns of Naju, Jeju and the southern districts of Namwon are assembled to form the province of the Jeolla of the South. Jeolla of North and the South form today part of the South Korea.
