Jean Queval
Jean Queval , writer, journalist, critic film, is also one of the founding members of the Oulipo.
Fanatic of football as of his more young age, it started as of 20 years a career of sports correspondent, before becoming critic film for various newspapers, of Clartés with the French Screen . He ensured thus a long time the cinematographic chronicle of the Mercure de France (of 1947 to 1962), collaborated in the Encyclopedia of the Pleiad and wrote serials for television ( the Beautiful eyes of Agatha , 1964; the Trunk of Hamburg , 1972). He is the author of monographs, of which those of Marcel Carné and Jacques Becker. Large translator (of James Old, Iris Murdoch, George Orwell, John Cowper Powys, Bertrand Russell, W.P. Thackeray…), Jean Queval was also a discrete writer and secrecy which published nevertheless an autobiographical account, Everyone descends (1959) and a novel, etc (1963).
