Jean Legendre

Jean Constant Legendre , born on May 7th, 1906 with Paris, dead on September 21st, 1994 with Compiegne, is a French politician, former deputy and mayor of Compiegne.

Biography

Political journalist of profession, it is elected appointed Oise of 1945 (until 1962), and mayor of Compiegne in 1947. He is beaten with the local elections of 1954, but is re-elected mayor in 1959 until 1987.

Compiegne partly owes him its economic development, through the establishment of the factory of Palmolive.

President of the District council of Picardy (1974-1976).
