Jean IV of Armagnac
Jean IV of Armagnac , born the October 15th 1396 with Rodez, dead the November 5th 1450 with the Isle-Jordan was count d' Armagnac, of Fézensac and of Rodez of 1418 with 1450. He is the son of Bernard VII of Armagnac, count d' Armagnac, of Fézensac, Pardiac and Rodez, and Bonne of Berry and the brother of Bernard of Armagnac, count de Pardiac, of Walk and duke of Nemours.
Biography
His/her father had receipt by the force the Comté of Comminge S, but Jean IV could not prevent the remarriage of Marguerite with Mathieu de Foix in 1419, and the county of Comminges escaped to him definitively. In 1425, it pays homage to the king de Castille for Armagnac. The king de France, occupied fighting the English, could not intervene, but did not forget the affront. Later, Jean IV negotiated the marriage of his Isabelle daughter with Henri VI, but there renonça after the threats of king de France. In 1440, it took part in a revolt of the barons and dolphin, but the coalition was overcome by Charles VII, who granted forgiveness to the insurrectionists. He asked the count d' Armagnac to give up his kingly formula, but this last refused.Charles VII then asked the dolphin to punish the vassal recalcitrant one and Jean IV, besieged with the the Isle-Jordan, was made prisoner and imprisoned with Carcassonne in 1443. He was pardoned later three years, but its counties were directed by royal officers, and he did not have any more capacities until his death.

Widower, it remarie the May 10th 1419 with Isabelle d' Évreux (1395 † 1450), girl of Charles III noble the, king de Navarre, and of Éléonore de Castille. They had:
- Marie (1420 † 1473), married in 1437 with Jean II (1409 † 1476), duke of Alençon.
- Jean V (1420 † 1473), Viscount of Lomagne, then count d' Armagnac, of Fézensac and Rodez.
- Éléonore (1423 † 1456), married in 1446 with Louis de Chalon (1389 † 1463), prince d' Orange, lord of Arlay and Arguel.
- Charles I {{er}} (1425 † 1497), Viscount of Fézensaguet, then count d' Armagnac, of Fézensac and Rodez.
- Isabelle (1430 † 1476), lady of the Four-Valleys.
