Jean Epstein

Jean Epstein (Warsaw, March 25th 1897 - Paris, April 3rd 1953), Realizer of Film S French, essay writer and novelist.

Biography

After secondary studies in Switzerland then studies of medicine in Lyon, it is impassioned for the literature and the cinema. Thanks to Blaise Cendrars, it can publish its first work in 1921, then thanks to Jean Benoit-Levy, carry out its first film in 1922.

He protested against what he regarded as an abuse speaking by a sentence which remained: “The sound cinema became the talkative cinema”
