Jean Duppelin

Jean, baron Duppelin , born with Phalsbourg (Meurthe) the April 3rd 1771, deceased with Thorn the January 25th 1813, colonel (since the October 20th 1806), colonel of the 85e Regiment (1806 - 1809), wounded (December 26th 1806), brigadier general (since the March 28th 1809), commander of the Legion of Honor (named the September 21st 1809), baron of the Empire (December 19th 1809).

Soldier with the 89° regiment of infantry (Royal-Swede) on June 1st 1787 and congédié on June 1st 1791, it entered as sergeant the August 8th according to the 3rd battalion of volunteers of the Meurthe, where he became adjudant warrant officer March 1792, and executive officer the July 15th 1793.
