Biography
Studying with the Louis-the-Large College, it meets into 1958 within the group theatrical of the college, Michel Bataillon, Jerome Deschamps and Patrice Chéreau. He plays his first part, Amal and the letter of the king of Rabîndranâth Tagore, in 1959, then is interested in the setting in scene, with the broken Jug of Kleist, and popular Scènes of Henri Monnier, in 1963. It coanime starting from this date during 2 years, the troop, which professionnalise, and follows Chéreau to Gennevilliers then Sartrouville.As from 1968, he works with the playwright Jean Jourdheuil to devote to the setting in scene in the national dramatic centers. The popular experimental Theater (Tex-Pop), installed with the Palace closes in 1975 collaboration between Vincent and Jourdheuil.
Jean-Pierre Vincent takes this year the direction of the National theater of Strasbourg and gives to it an important place to the school and experimental creation. He questions in particular the French history, with Germinal , Vichy fictions , the Misanthropist and the Law courts .
Administrator of the Comédie-Française of 1983 with 1986, which it chooses to leave of itself, the station being considered to be “most difficult in France with Matignon”. As from 1986, it is devoted to the setting in scene with Bernard Chartreux and to teaching with the Conservatoire higher national of dramatic art of Paris.
It succeeds Patrice Chéreau with the head of the Théâtre Nanterre-Almond trees between 1990 and 2001, qu ' it divides with Stanislas Nordey between 1995 and 1997.
In 2001, it founds the Free company Studio with Bernard Chartreux, and they create several spectacles with the national theaters of the Hill and Odéon. He is member of the boards of directors of the Théâtre of Odéon, the Festival of Avignon and the Jeune national theater.
