Jean-Michel Nicollet
Jean Michel Nicollet is a Dessinateur French born with Lyon the February 7th 1944.
Biography
Jean-Michel Nicollet is especially known like Illustrateur, in particular for the covers of the editions Néo and Folio Junior.It followed the courses of the school of the Art schools of its birthplace where it meets Jacques Tardi, then those of the school of Paris. Its professional beginnings go back to 1970 when he proposes illustrations for the monthly magazine Him . It continues with some advertizing work and the realization of its first covers for the collection Folio at Gallimard. In 1972, for the American editor Harlin Quist, it conceives the iconography of the Conte of Ionesco n° 4 . It joined the team of the magazine Métal Howling in 1977 and undertakes Mysterious businesses , succession of short fantastic accounts scenarized by Picaret and itself.
It signs many covers for various editors (Néo, Lattès,…) and carries out several works, among which the Devil , the Poèmes of Lovecraft , the Poèmes of Howard or Harry Dickson on a text of Marie-Paule Vandunthum and Gerard Dôle. He is also the joint author, with Keleck of the Rejeton of the universe and of Ersatz .
He exposes his pictorial production to the Escale gallery with Paris in 1992.
Its work, primarily carried out with the acrylic Painting, develops the topics of strange and the supernatural one.
Nicollet also teaches at the Emile-Cohl school with Lyon.
