Jean-François de Gondi

Jean-François de Gondi 1584 - March 21st 1654 in Paris. Wire of Albert de Gondi and Claude Catherine de Clermont, it is the first archbishop of Paris

  • the occupation of the episcopal see of Paris is reserved during nearly one century at the house of Gondi: Jean-François de Gondi with succeeded his/her brother, Henri de Gondi, which had succeeded itself his/her uncle, Pierre de Gondi 1533 - 1616, cardinal, only become after then bishop of Paris, also commendatory abbot of the abbeys Saint-Aubin-in Angers, Thatch, Holy-Cross of Quimperlé and Buzay.

  • Jean-François de Gondi is the first archbishop of Paris. It occupies the episcopal see of Paris of 1622 with 1654.
