Jean-Baptiste Budes, count de Guébriant

Jean-Baptiste Budes, count de Guébriant (born with Ploufragan in 1602, died with Rottweil the November 17th 1643) was a man of French war active during the Guerre Thirty Year old, of a former family Breton.

It makes its studies with the prestigious college current Jesuit of the Arrow National Prytanée Militaire.Il is useful initially in Holland, and at the time of the Thirty year old war, 1638 with orders 1639 the French quota in the army of his/her friend Bernard of Saxony-Weimar, being distinguished particularly with the Siège from Breisach in 1638. He was officer as a second of Bernard of Saxony-Weimar and succeeded to him the head of its army when he died in July 1639.

It took part in particular in the operations in Franche-Comté (with Montaigu, Nozeroy, Saint-Claude), this province being at the time under dependence Spanish E.

With the assistance of Swedish, in conjunction with J To bar (1596 - 1641), general Swedish, it organizes an attack on Regensburg in 1640.

Its victories with Wolfenbüttel the June 29th 1641 and with Kempen in 1642 make him obtain the stick of Marshal of France. Having failed in its attempt at invasion of the Bavaria in.liaison.with Torstenson, Wounded in the arm in November 1643 and badly looked after, he died at the time of the battle of Rottweil in November 1643.
