Jarmo Myllys

Jarmo Myllys (born the May 29th 1965 with Savonlinna in Finland) is a former professional player of Hockey. It evolved/moved as a goalkeeper

Career

It was fished out by the North Stars of Minnesota to the Repêchage of entry in the LNH 1987 in 9th round, 172e on the whole, of the Lukko Rauma of the Sm-liiga (it had played before with the SaPKo Savonlinna and Ilves Tampere). In 1987, it receives the Kultainen kypärä as a better player of Sm-liiga, titrates decreed by its pars.

It spent three years within the organization of North Stars before being selected by the Sharks de San Jose during the Repêchage of expansion LNH 1991. It will dispute 27 matches for Sharks in 1991-92.

Myllys turns over then in of Europe, initially with the KooKoo Kouvola and the Lukko Rauma (elected better guard of the championship of Finland in 1994) then pendand seven seasons with the Luleå HF. In 1996, Luleå gains the championship of Sweden for the first time of its history (and only up to now) after having beaten Västra Frölunda and Myllys is elected better guard of the championship, but the club finally fails the following year against Färjestad whereas Myllys is elected this time better player. It leaves Luleå in 2001 to sign with Espoo, then plays HV 71 and finishes its career with the SaiPa Lappeenranta.

Myllys was the guard number 1 of the Finland during their legendary Championnat of the world of 1995. It also kept the goals of the Finland at the time of six others championships of the world between 1987 and 2001 and gained a money medal to the Winter Olympics of 1988 with Calgary and one of bronze to the Winter Olympics of 1998 with Nagano.

He is currently trainer of the goalkeepers to the SaiPa Lappeenranta.
