Jaoul houses

The houses Jaoul " A" and " B" were built of 1954 with 1956 on a ground of thousand square meters, the commune of Neuilly-sur-Seine (Hauts-de-Seine, France), by the Architecte Charles-Edouard Jeanneret-Gray, say Le Corbusier for André Jaoul and his Michel son.

Presentation

These houses of bricks and concrete, of approximately 200 square meters each one have different exposures, but divide the same garden, a terrace out of concrete and a basement commun runs. The house " A" , on street, from the sight the house " protects; B". This family home comprises 2 stages and is an application of the Modulor.
Their plans were carried out in 1937 but construction started only after war.

Jaoul lived the houses of many years before selling them to the English millionaire Lord Palumbo. This one restored them partly then resold with 2 sisters who currently live there with their families.

The buildings were classified historic building on the initiative of the Minister for the Culture of the time, André Malraux. The houses are private and are only exceptionally open to the public.
