Jan Voss
Jan Voss is an artist of German origin , alive in France. He is painter, Aquarelliste, Sculpteur and engraver.
Born with Hamburg in 1936. He lives and works with Paris since 1960.
Professor at the 3Ecole Nationale Sup3erieure of the Art schools of Paris.
Jan Voss settles in Paris in 1960 after studies in the Art schools of Munich.
Its first personal exposure takes place in 1963. It then exposes with the group of the narrative Figuration.
It tries to give an account of a daily reality by inventing little stories in its fabrics where appear of the animals, of the characters.
Then its work moves away from the peintyres of the narrative Figuration.
Later, its work, " layouts with the line " , are saturated with black signs and aquarellées lines. It adds, superimposes usual objects, animals, plants, silhouettes of men and women. Since the beginning of the Eighties, he adds new materials in his works and carries out small sculptures (totems, stackings of cubes…).
