James E. Casey
James E. Casey (March 29th 1888 - June 6th 1983) was an American business man, born in Pick Handle Gulch close to Candelaria (Nevada).
In 1907, at the 19 years age, Jim Casey founded American Messenger Company in the town of Seattle with only 100 dollars which it had borrowed from a friend. It then provided the president's functions, CEO and Chairman. Claude Ryan was his partner and intermediary with his George brother. its slogan was “the best service for the prices low” ( best service and lowest spleens ). In 1919, the company was established apart from Seattle and was renamed United Parcel Service (UPS).
