Jacques Delors
Jacques Delors , born the July 20th 1925 with Lonzac in Corrèze in which its family is originating, is an economist and Politician French. He was minister for the Economy and Finances, 1981 with 1984, and chair European commission of 1985 1995. He was also mayor of Clichy-the-Garenne (Hauts-de-Seine), of 1983 to 1984, mandate which then Gilles Catoire recovers.
Biography

Attached at the origin with the family of thought Christian-Democrat and trade-union, it takes part in the activities of the New Life - catholic movement of inspiration personalist which will play a crucial role in the emergence of the " Second left " - in which it creates in 1959 the review Citoyens 60 that it directs until in 1965.
It begins its career as a writer with the Banque de France under the pseudonym Roger Jacques. He is quickly noticed and becomes economic expert with the CFTC.
He enters then to the General police station in the Plan then is called with the cabinet of Jacques Chaban-Delmas, Prime Minister of 1969 with 1972. For this reason, it largely influences the project of “New business” which this one wished to promote.
He was also professor associated with the Université Paris-Dauphine, of 1974 with 1979.
Minister for Finance of François Mitterrand
A few years later, it joined the socialist family of thought . It enters to the party in 1974, is elected appointed European of 1979 with 1981, mandate of which it resigns after its nomination in the first government of François Mitterrand. Of 1981 with 1984, it was successively:
- of the May 22nd 1981 with the June 23rd 1981: minister for the Economy and Finances, in the Government Pierre Mauroy (1);
- of the June 23rd 1981 with the March 22nd 1983: minister for the Economy and Finances, in the Government Pierre Mauroy (2). For this reason, it is one of the initiators of the turn of the rigor of 1982;
- of the March 22nd 1983 with the July 17th 1984: minister for the Economy, Finances and the Budget, in the Government Pierre Mauroy (3).
President of the European commission
He was not renewed in the government directed by Laurent Fabius, having been had a presentiment of, by agreement guided by François Mitterrand and Helmut Kohl, chancellor West German, to become president of the European commission of January 1985 with December 1994, succeeding Luxemburgish Gaston Thorn, and preceding Luxemburgish Jacques Santer.He is the instigator of the White paper of the Commission recommending the creation of a large European market controlled by the installation of new solidarity. This white paper leads to the signature of the Single act in February 1986, which it calls “my favorite treaty”.
Then the adoption from the package Delors I comes (1987) and package Delors II (1992).
A favorite time of the surveys from the point of view of the presidential election of 1995, it renonça to present its candidature, on December 11th 1994. Permanent guest of the national office of the PS; grouping of studies and research chair Our Europe (since 1996). President of the CERC, the Council of employment, the incomes and social cohesion (since 2000).

It is founder president and member of the Board of directors of the Think tank Our Europe , like member of honor of the Institut Aspen France.He is honorary member of the Club of Rome.
He is finally president of the CERC (the Council Employment Returned Social cohesion).
He was godfather of EICD 3A in Lyon in 1988.
