Jacques Crozemarie
Jacques Crozemarie , born the October 7th 1925 with Paris, dead the December 24th 2006 with Doves, is the founder and former president of the Association of Research on Cancer (ARC).
Biography
Qualified engineer of the French School of radioelectricity (EFR become EFREI)! |date= , it leaves during two years under the flags in Indo-China, of 1949 with 1951.Administrative framework with the INSERM, it creates the ARC in 1962, and in a very personal way in the decades directs it which follow. Being made call “Doctor” or “Professor”, although not having any medical formation, it appears systematically in the publicity campaigns of the ARC, in particular on television and knows a strong personal notoriety.
To sit the notoriety of the ARC, it can be surrounded, at the beginning, known cancer specialists of the general public: Lucien Israel, Georges Mathé and Leon Schwartzenberg.
Jacques Crozemarie is member of the French national Big room.
He is deceased on December 24th, 2006 at the 81 years age.
The scandal linked with the operation of the ARC
First steps
Association and its president are aimed as of April 1988 by a report/ratio of the General inspection of the social affairs which denounces the seizure of president Jacques Crozemarie on the decision-making power of the partial assignment of the gifts for researchThe business really begins in 1991 by a confidential relationship of the general inspection from the social affairs denouncing the enormous expenditure from the ARC, which seemed to devote 72% of the sums paid by the 3,5 million givers to his operation and its Publicité, and only 28% with research against cancer. In 1996, examining magistrate is indicated and quickly, Jacques Crozemarie, which maintains that 45% of the resources of association were assigned to research in 1993, is put in examination.

The lawsuit
Leaders of the group International Development (ID), principal subcontractor of the ARC, charged with the communication, in particular Michel Simon, are also blamed. In June 1999, in front of the magistrates' court of Paris, the prosecutor requires the maximum of the incurred sorrow, five years of prison together with a committal order to the audience, against Misters Crozemarie and Simon.
Jacques Crozemarie was condemned to four years of prison, Michel Simon at three years with a fine of 230.000 euros. Their sorrows were worsened in call, the amount of the fines passing to 380.000 euros, with a request for immediate imprisonment for the former president of the ARC. “It is advisable to prevent any risk of escape abroad where considerable sums remain obviously available”, then the court justified, also underlining “the ashamed behavior” of the former president of the ARC which according to it “used of all the ways, including that of a medicine of kindness, to escape the sanction”.
In June 2000, Jacques Crozemarie is recognized guilty breach of trust and abuse of corporate asset. He is condemned to four years of prison closes, 2,5 franc million of fine, and 200 franc million of damages to pour with the ARC.
End
After two years of imprisonment to the Prison of Health (Paris), it is released and finished its days in an old people's home of Île-de-France until its death the December 24th 2006. It was buried the December 29th 2006 with the cemetery of the Seaside resort of Bandol where Jacques Crozemarie had a residence.
