Before the Revolution
Lawyer with Toulouse, as of 1777, civil and criminal lieutenant of the présidial of Toulouse of 1773 at 1790.
Under the Revolution
Justice of the Peace of 1790 with 1792, Jacques Bernard Marie Montané is elected third judge of the revolutionary Tribunal, on March 13rd 1793, and becomes the president about it after the refusal of the two first. Shown moderantism by Fouquier-Tinville, it leaves the presidency, on August 23rd 1794, to be replaced by Martial Joseph Armand Hermann, and retouve even in prison. He is discharged after the fall of Maximilien de Robespierre, on September 13rd, 1794, and becomes judge with the court of the second district of Paris. One loses his trace in 1805.
