Biography
Having completed its studies with the seminar of this city, under the direction of PP. Somasques, he embraced the ecclesiastical state, and reconciled himself by his talents, like the purity of his manners, the benevolence of the prelates who followed one another on the patriarchal head office of Venice. Provided with the load of archdeacon, it employed his leisures with the culture of the letters, and became member of the Académie of Collected the ( gli Raccolti ). It had the greatest facility with rimer on all kinds of subjects; but the compositions which it left feel unfortunately of the taste of its century, which was not that of the naturalness. Its old age was calm and happy like had been to it its whole life. He died the May 9th 1718, and was buried in the patriarchal church, with a honourable epitaph. He left a collection of worms under this title: Trattenimenti poetici seri E geniali , Venice, 1673, in-12. One finds his praise in the Giornale d' Italia , T. 30, p. 337.
