J. Andre Blake

Maître Blake is one of the pioneers of Taekwon-C in Quebec and Canada.

Biography

J. André Blake was born on February 26th, 1944, in Montreal.

He taught during several years in the Center Immaculate-Design (now named the Center Marcel-Of the Sand pit) of the street Papineau in Montreal. In October 1979, Maître Blake organized an international competition in the Pierre-Charbonneau center of Montreal. This competition opposed candidates of Haiti east of the candidates of Quebec, from where its name: " Haiti-Québec". The competition included tests of breakings, forms as well as engagements.

In March 1991, Maître Blake became first Canadian of origin to obtain the rank of black belt 7th degree of the hands of the General Choi Hong Hi, itself girdles black 9th degree and founder of Taekwon-C. He was thereafter president of the Canadian Federation of International Taekwon-C. In September 1999, Main received Blake, always of the hands of the General Choi Hong Hi, the rank of black belt 8th degree. Maître Blake is member of the Temple of the Famous one: Taekwondo Hall Off Famed.

Its pupils will remember forever his contagious passion of Taekwon-C and its large respect of the human beings.

Maître André Blake is deceased in May 2001, at the 57 years age.
