J. - H. Rosny

J. - H. Rosny is the common pseudonym of the brothers Joseph Henri Honore Boex (1856 - 1940) and Seraph Justin François Boex (1859 - 1948), both born with Brussels. Between 1886 and 1909, they write in collaboration several tales and novels, approaching natural, prehistoric and fantastic topics, like some popularizing works scientific. In 1909, the brothers stop their continuous collaboration and Joseph Boex writing under the name J. - H. elder Rosny, while Séraphin signs J. - H. Rosny young. In 1903, the Boex brothers are named with the jury of the first Prix Goncourt. They are among the great names founders of the modern Science-fiction.

The elder one is the best known one of both and the works resulting from the collaboration of Rosny are often allotted by error to elder only. the War of fire is most famous of their novels, partly because of the film which is drawn from it, made in 1981 by Jean-Jacques Annaud.
