Ithier of Rethel
Ithier or Guithier of Vitry, died in 1171, was lord of the manor of Vitry and count de Rethel of 1158 with 1171. It was wire of Eudes, lord of Vitry, and Mathilde, countess of Rethel.
Biography
It is quoted in a signed charter in March 1128 by his uncle the Baudouin II of Jerusalem, by which this last grants privileges to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem. One of deduced that on this date it took share with the Croisade S. During this period Baudouin II organized a forwarding to take Damas, but without success.He married Béatrice de Namur († 1160), girl of Godefroy I {{er}}, count de Namur, and of Ermesinde of Luxembourg. From their union were born:
- Béatrix († March 30th, 1185), married to Roger II, king de Sicile
- Hugues, quoted as monk in Rheims in 1160.
- Manassès IV († 1199), count de Rethel.
- Henri († 1191), lord of the manor of Vitry
- Baudouin († 1198), lord of Chemery
- Albert († 1213), archdeacon in Liege
