Island of Rangiport

The island of Rangiport is a island of the the Seine, long approximately 1,5 km, located in the Yvelines between Gargenville on Right Bank and Épône and the Wall-on-Seine on left bank. It is attached administratively to the common of Gargenville. This island is crossed by the secondary road D 130 which borrow two bridge metal from lattice girder. It faces in its upstream part with the mouth of the Mauldre.

This island devoted to agriculture (in particular irrigated corn and market gardening) is uninhabited except for a restaurant for truck drivers located between the two bridges.

It is on the layout of a project of fast track intended to connect Cergy-Pontoise to the highway A 13. This layout is one of the alternatives of the project of looping of the Francilienne subjected to the public debate during the first six-month period 2006.
