Iron and steel industry
The term Sidérurgie (of the Greek sideros , iron) indicates at the same time the techniques of obtaining the cast iron, the Fer and the Acier starting from Minerai, but also the Industrie which implements them.
Products
Flat products
The flat products are obtained by Laminage; they include/understand:-
the strong Sheet S (from 10 to 420 mm thickness), which is used for the realization of large welded tubes, the Naval construction, the building, the works of art and the Chaudronnerie;
-
the thin Sheet S (between approximately 0,3 and 10 millimetres thickness), used in particular for Automobile construction , the Packing, the electric household appliances, the cover and the Boarding of building S (shaped or undulated Sheet S).
Long products
The long products gather the bars (rounds, squares), the Profilé S (like the Rail S of Railroad, the Poutrelle S in the shape of H, U, I or L), as well as the drawn produced .They are used in all industries, like in the building (for example: Acier S for braces S of Reinforced concrete).
Other products
The other iron and steel products are the steel parts Forg E (mechanical engineering heavy), the parts in moulded Acier and the parts in cast cast iron.
