Ionone

The ionone (or 4 (2,6,6-trimethyl-1-cyclohexene-1-yl) - 3-butylene-2-one) is a chemical Composé of C13H20O formula, pertaining to the family of the Terpène S and aromatic compounds. With room temperature, it is about a pale yellow liquid to the wooded and fruity odor. It is about one of the basic compounds of the production of Rétinol. It is a mixture of two forms: α-ionone and β-ionone which can be synthesized starting from the Citral and of the Acétone. The ionone of synthesis was obtained for the first time in 1893.
