Intoxication

A intoxication is a whole of disorders of the operation of the organization due to the absorption of a substance foreign, known as Toxique.
The absorption of the poison can be made
- by inhalation (aspiration, breathing of a Aérosol Gaz or vapor, Fog, Smoked) or of dust);
- by ingestion (to drink, eat);
- by cutaneous contact (either cutaneous effraction by wound or burn, or by diffusion through the Derm and the skin);
- by direct injection in blood (parenteral Voie differently all that is Piqûre or Cathéter).
One distinguishes:

intoxication of the Asphyxiation, which is the absence of Dioxygène, for example an atmosphere of Diazote or of Carbon dioxide is asphyxiating but not toxic, on the other hand, a low content of Carbon monoxide in the Air is toxic, but not asphyxiating
- the food poisonings, mainly due to the development of germs (like the Botulisme) or to the absorption of a product not Comestible (like certain mushrooms);
- the medicamentous intoxications, by use of an unsuited drug, or an excessive absorption (Surdose);
- the Drug-addiction, voluntary intoxication with a phenomenon of Habituation and dependence (of which the Alcoholism, the Nicotinism, the cocaine addiction, the héroïnomanie, the morphine addiction, the éthéromanie);
- the Poisoning, administration of a Poison at criminal ends , or mechanism of defense de on behalf of a Plant or of an Animal (Venom).
