International company of rescue of Léman
The international company of rescue of Léman (SISL) is a company of rescue free-Switzerland made of voluntary, active since 1885 on the Lac Léman.
It is a non-profit organization, formed of 2 200 voluntary members men and women, of which more than 40% are active.
The purpose of it is to join together, with an aim of confraternity and precaution, the rescuers of Léman, and to create a series of station of rescue in order to carry a rapid help to the people and boats in danger.
34 sections of the SISL distributed all around the lake Léman share the 582 km ² surface of this water level. Composed by 26 Swiss companies and 8 Frenchwomen, this international organization of rescuers ensures the navigators of the lake Léman (approximately 19 000 registered boats) a first-aid organization 24 hours a day and 365 days per year.
The fleet of intervention of the SISL is made up of 45 units (19 Vedette S and 26 units of intervention).
