Insular Brittany
The insular Brittany , sometimes also called the island of Brittany, is the name given to the Great Britain by the modern historians until the end of the British period medieval. This term replaced the use of the antiquated names of Albion and Britannia.
This term is usually used by the Breton historians in the current publications, in particular to speak about the immigration of the Bretons islanders.
In English, one prefers to use the terms Celtic Brittany ( Celtic Britain ), Roman Brittany ( Roman Britain ) or Brittany medieval ( Medieval Britain ) according to the described periods.
