Technical details
One of the major innovations brought by this play of adventure is the possibility of solving certain enigmas in several manners. Although many combat punctuate the play (it is still possible to die in a play of adventure), it is possible to avoid them while using of various stratagems (disguises, diversions of attention, judiciously selected sentences…). The discovery of these alternative solutions makes it possible moreover to obtain points of IQ (" Indy" quotient;), whose total can rise up to 1000. This system is a direct answer to the principal criticism made then with the plays of adventure of the time: the linearity of the scenario judged like limiting the interest of rejouer to a play, once finished. It uses the engine SCUMM. On PC compatible, the play was initially equipped with graphics EGA (16 colors). One second version benefitted from the standard of posting VGA (256 colors).
Play of action
A play of action on the same topic was published the same year: Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade: The Action Range . It did not have the success of its alter-ego.
