The Indiana is a State of the center of the the United States. It is bordered in north by the Lake Michigan and the Michigan, in the east by the Ohio, in the south by the Kentucky and in the west by the Illinois.

The inhabitants of Indiana are called “hoosier” , but the origin of this word is unknown; at the 18th century, the word was used in the South-east of the United States in the “bottom-earthy” direction.

History

The name of the State wants to say Indian ground . Presidential and republican elections

Of 1940 with 2004, the voters of Indiana voted only once for a candidate of the Democratic party, Lyndon Johnson in 1964.

At the time of the presidential election of 2004, the voters of Indiana voted to 60% for George W. Bush against nearly 40% with John Kerry.

A local domination of the republicans
