Independent and liberal republican pole
The independent and liberal republican Pôle (PRIL) was created in 1998 by the members of liberal Démocratie who, following the example François Léotard and of Gilles de Robien, refused to leave the UDF and to support Alain Madelin in his strategy of autonomy. The principal founders of the PRIL are also:

In November 1998, the PRIL amalgamated with FD and AD within the Nouvelle UDF .
