IVECO Daily
L´ IVECO Daily is a industrial Véhicule light, deliverable in several versions, produced by the Italian manufacturer IVECO starting from 1978.
First series (1978-1990)
In 1978, FIAT IVECO presents a revolutionary vehicle called Daily . Introduced like a commercial vehicle light heir to old FIAT 241 and FIAT 625, it immediately receives a very favorable reception of the users who assess the excellent qualities of robustness and versatility. Its transformations for particular uses are numerous: vans, frame cabin, double cabin etc…Daily is proposed in 2 versions: 35 and 50, which represents the PTC of the vehicles expressed with the Italian mode, in quintals, that is to say 3,5 T and 5,0 tons. according to its composition, useful volume can reach 17 m3, which makes of it the true successor of FIAT 241.
In 1980, FIAT IVECO presents the version Turbo-diesel called TurboDaily which will continue its career until in 2002, after having known several successive improvements and 3 series.
Daily were marketed as of their presentation, under marks FIAT in Italy and Unic in France, with the logo I of Iveco in bottom on the right; and this until 1980. Between 1980 and 1983, the Iveco mark prevailed in the center of the grill, the marks FIAT or Unic was simply recalled in bottom on the right.
Second series (1990-2000)
Although the IVECO Daily was always regarded as the best vehicle of its category, the esthetics of new FIAT Ducato 2nd series accentuates its old.The new series abounds in technological innovations all while maintaining intact its characteristics in robustness and reliability acquired with the 1st series.
In 1998 Daily receives a very light restyling, which relates to especially the drawing of before cabin which will have softened lines.
Third series (2000-2006)
The 3rd series of the IVECO Daily is an improved version only with dimensions esthetics with a more modern aspect.The TurboDaily versions are removed range awaited that all the motorizations turbo are compressed profiting from technology Unijet Common rail - patent FIAT. The versions Nimble, with an automatic and manual gear box with 6 reports/ratios and CNG - methane - make their appearance.
The range still grows rich with a version Daily 65 with a PTC by 6,5 tons and Daily 28 by 2,8 tons.
Fourth series (2006 manufacture)
this new series of the IVECO Daily was drawn by Giugiaro. The vehicle is equipped with a very elegant front face which is of very modern aspect. Available in version van, frame cabin, double cabin, Combi, Minibus, Nimble and CNG, that represents 2500 possible alternatives.The version minibus 20 places will be marketed under the mark Irisbus.
The success of Daily is such as since its launching more than 500.000 vehicles were manufactured. It is sold in the world a IVECO Daily every four minutes.
Iveco Daily manufactured abroad
IVECO manufactures its Daily in its Italian factories of Brescia, in the East of Milan but also in many foreign countries:- China: IVECO with its subsidiary company NAVECO, manufactures Daily in very many versions since 1986 at the rate of 20.000 vehicles per annum.
- Serbia: Zastava Kamioni manufactures under license the ZK Rival and New Rival which are Iveco Daily of the first and second series.
- Argentinian: FIAT manufactured between 1995 and 1998 Daily second series in its factory of Cordoba, in the version 49.10 frames cabin.
- Brazil: FIAT - IVECO manufactures in its new factory of Sete Lagoas, the Daily range of 3rd generation.
- Russia: New cooperation agreement with Severstal, signed on July 3rd, 2007, to manufacture 25.000 specimens as from 2008 per annum.
