Huang He
The Huang He , or Yellow river , (黃河 pinyin Huáng He) is the longer second Fleuve of China, after the Chang Jiang. 5.464 km length, it is thrown in the Golfe of Bohai, in the Yellow Mer.
Its name comes to him from its strong turbidity, because it carts great quantities of alluvia (Lœss, silts) which fertilize the large plain of the North of China.
In Tibetan, it names rMa-chu , “the river of the peacock”.
The river takes its source in the mounts Kunlun (province of the Qinghai), and moves towards the east through the plate Tibetan in which it dug deep throats.
After Lanzhou (province of the Gansu), the river traverses a vast loop in the desert plate of the Ordos, in Mongolia-Interior.
It crosses in particular Kaifeng, Wuhai, Baotou, Jinan (capital of the Shandong) and is thrown finally in the gulf of Bohai.
Huang He is famous for its disastrous risings, during which it has several times changed of course, with an alternate course much southernmost passing by the Lac Hongze.
Since the middle of the years 1980, the level of pollution of Huang He was multiplied by two.
