Hoverla
The Mount Hoverla (Ukrainian: Говерла , Hoverla , Rumanian: Russian Hovârla , : Говерла Goverla , Czech and Slovak: Hoverla , Polish: Howerla , Hungarian: Hóvár ), to 2.061 m, is the highest mountain of Ukraine and belonged to the Carpathes. The mountain is located in the east of the Beskides, in the area called Tchornohora. The slopes are covered with forests of beeches and spruces to the top with a belt with subalpine meadow called in Ukrainian polonyna. Towards the slope is the primary source of the river Prout is.
The date of its first rise is unknown. At the end of the XIXe century, the mountains became a considerable tourist attraction, especially at the tourists of the cities close to the Galicie. In 1880, the first course tourist between the peak Hoverla and Krasny Luh was marked by Leopold Wajgel of the Galician Société Tatra. The following year, the first tourist shelter was found there.
