House of the Volcano
The Maison of the Volcano is a Musée of the island of the Meeting installed with Borough-Murat, Lieu-dit of the Plaine of the Kaffirs located in the High of the commune of the Tampon. He proposes permanent exposures on different the Volcan S from the world and in particular on the Piton of the Furnace, the active volcano of the island.
The existence of this museum is largely due to the will of the couple of volcanologists Maurice and Katia Kraft, who studied closely the eruptions of the Piton of the Furnace, and which are both died on June 3rd, 1991 in a volcanic Cloud of the Mount Unzen with the Japan.
This museum is as gravitational for the adults as for the children and proposes many explanatory experiments.
