Hoogstraten

Hoogstraten is a common city and Dutch-speaking of Belgium located in Flemish Région in the Province of Antwerp.

The small town has some objects of prestige. Its church is comparable with a cathedral. One also finds there a castle which is called " GelmelSlot" who is used like places rehabilitation for recidivists. There are also a windmill, and a water mill which date from the 16th century.

There are three large spectacles with Hoogstraten. Firstly, it with the procession of the bleeds there holy which takes place one Sunday of July. Secondly, there is a great festival of children " Begijntjes laat besluit" who consists of a competition of theater between the " Gebuurten" and which is made by the children.

The third is the festival of music caraibéenne " Antilliaanse Feesten Hoogstraten" , universally famous festival and larger gathering caraïbéen in Europe after the carnival of Brixton.

Meer

Meer is a commune attached to the town of Hoogstraten in the Province of Antwerp. Meer counted in 2005, approximately 3299 inhabitants. The village has a church, Onze-Lieve-Vrouw-Bezoeking, which is of a neo-gothic style. This one is at the end of the Belgian Autoroute A1 named in Belgium E19.

Minderhout

Minderhout is a commune attached to the town of Hoogstraten in the province of Antwerp. Minderhout was autonomous until end of 1976. It has a surface of 16,10 km ² and counted 3267 inhabitants in 2005.

Meersel-dreef

This small commune facilitated is especially known for its cave and like final place of the pilgrimages.
